Breaking from the traditional format, Moniker highlights the work of a generation of artists often overlooked in British mainstream fairs, though widely acclaimed by museums and established art institutions throughout the world.
With such success last year, Moniker Art Fair will be expanding its 2011 programme to include galleries such as Scream London, who will showcase the iconic art of Andy Warhol alongside LA neo-pop artist, Greg Miller at the fair. Other artists exhibiting include the up and coming Russell Young, street art favourites Ben Eine and Herakut, as well as the introduction of a strong group of Pop Surrealist artists such as Luke Chueh from California and New York photographer and ‘beautiful loser’ Cheryl Dunn.

I Could Do That is an experimental project where members of the public are invited to write comments about works of street art in and around East London. QR codes found by selected pieces of street art are connecting mobile phones to corresponding comments pages on the I Could Do That website. This clever idea allows people to interact around a piece or art on the street like they would a video on YouTube.
The people at StreetFest put on another great party this bank holiday weekend. The main stage headlined by Mr Hudson but strong performances from Ty, Reeps 1 and the End of the Weak MCs really got the people going. Outside a hyped crowd gathered around a group of b-boys, also enjoying the sunshine were graffers and artists who worked throughout the day on their pieces. Back inside skaters took turns on a specially constructed half pipe, and around the way, a well stocked street market and cinema. Where else could you have spent your Sunday?
