BBC 2 Jungle Documentary (1994)

The BBC’s take on Jungle music from way back in the nineties. Some old footage being dug up, with words from the likes of DJ Rap, Fabio (the hair!), LTJ Bukem, UK Apache and Shy FX. The end of the video sees a discussion on “going commercial” with General Levy taking some heat. 4hero presents ‘EXTENSIONS’

“4hero present a compilation of original previously unreleased cover versions of their music, reinterpreted by a selection of hand picked artists. For this project they’ve sought out a range of forward thinking outfits, orchestra’s & producers including some new discoveries to cover their music. The result is cinematic and dynamic in structure and styles. 4hero are well known for pioneering new electronic music genres including Jungle/D&B, Broken Beat and Nu Jazz. The “Extensions” recordings are the best way to define Nu Jazz.”

We prefer most of the originals but still an interesting listen. Due out October but to get the idea listen to the 4hero presents ‘EXTENSIONS’ snippets.

DJ Zinc @ The End Closing weekend | Drum and Bass

One of the saddest and biggest weekends in London’s clubbing history. The End’s closing weekend saw an army of DJ’s and industry leaders come together to say “Bye Bye Baby”. Accordingly DJ Zinc came back from his House to take it back to the Jungle in this old school Jungle mix recorded live from The End on 27 January 2009. Amen.

Let’s go back, way back, back into time…
