Hobzee and Zyon Base have a back catalogue of collaborations but recently have been working under the joint alias of Silent Dust. In promotion of their debut LP (out soon on SOUL:R) and just ahead of their appearance at Fabric on 5 November, here’s a deeper collection of drum and bass for your ears.
Sole Heaven’s second instalment of their Kicks N Mixtapes series comes from the legendary Goldie. If you’re not familiar with the concept, Sole Heaven are asking DJ’s to create exclusive mixes and sending them out alongside a Kicks interview. The What Is Music? project’s goal is to express the notion of music at a personal level, with contributors being asked the question, “what is music?”. Talent from across London’s diverse urban music culture have contributed through featuring in interviews, recording exclusive influences mixes and also creating one off art pieces. What Is Music? was made in association with 4Talent and will continue to grow to produce an evolving collage of expression for London’s ever-changing music scene.
22tracks is a jukebox consisting of 22 playlists across different genres, each featuring 22 tracks. A reassurance of quality is preserved through weekly playlist updates from respected DJ’s.
Commercial Suicide’s, Klute, was recently interviewed by Kmag. He talks about his label’s future releases as well as expanding his product portfolio with a fragrance called Suicide?!
“This was originally going to come out on Shogun as the B-Side to Inner Disbelief. I decided against the 12″ as I felt I kept giving away my best tunes, much to Frictions annoyance understandably (we’ve made up now though). I still owe him a release; which is now in writing so I’ll have to commit.”
