The latest project from Bop, Oak and Jalex is Microfunk Live. Taking a collection of 30 samples from members of their microfunk.ru site, then in 6 months turning them into 6 tracks. The trio then performed these tracks live in Bop’s apartment. Bop had these words:
“Everyone was able to send to us one sample and then from all this material we wanted to make a tune. After some attempts and because of the extraordinary variety of the samples we changed the concept of the project a little. We decided to produce more tunes, then play it live and make a video of it. So, we took our sampler with chopped one-shots, drum synthesizer, laptop + some other devices and had fun with it.”
Equipment we used:
1x Laptop
1x Launchpad
1x Korg Electribe ES-1 MK2
1x Korg Electribe ER-1
2x Midi Keyboard
1x E-mu 0404 usb Audio/MIDI Interface
1x Usb hub
1x Duck toy
There are plans to start more interesting projects so keep watching on microfunk.ru

Over the bank holiday weekend StreetFest took over Hearne Street car park once again. The Next Men headlined along with performances by Ghostpoet, Wretch 32 and UK beatbox champion, Reeps 1. Outside crowds gathered around bSupreme breakers, with a backdrop of live murals from the likes of Inkfetish, Remi Rough, Blam, Best Ever, Candy Flo, Elfin and 45RPM. Back inside skaters took turns on a specially constructed half pipe next to stands selling UK designed clothing.
A great event, shouts to everyone involved and all those that attended!

This dance-floor focused tracklist covers quite a but of ground and showcases Kahn’s versatility within the 140 spectrum. Read more about him in Sonic Router’s interview.
