Will Clinkard is the man behind online store Street Casuals. He got in touch with us requesting a link exchange, but we’ve done so much better. After the jump you’ll find out how Will went from working at Ginsters (yes the Cornish pasty makers!) to owning his own online streetwear store.
Plus, Will has kindly given us £200 to give away to one really lucky reader in our Street Casuals Competition.
Just before the Silas UK launch tomorrow (29th September) we got in touch with George Louch who runs the store as well as distribution for Silas in the UK.

INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment.
A really great documentary from the people of R+I Creative.. It features influencers from across New York’s creative industries. The mention of Hiroshi Fujiwara from outside of New York got us thinking, who would feature in a London version of this?
Hackman comes in at 130 BPM with this mix, originally put together for Rinse FM’s Blackdown. This small village kid had music pushed upon him from an early age, learning to play piano and violin. Currently progressing his talent further on a production course at the Leeds College of Music. Hackman’s mix showcases his strong production output, a guy to watch out for.
Download the mix and read through the interview over at Blackdown’s blog.
Cordy House (remember the Mutate Britain show in 2008?) is to be closed and knocked down. Before it becomes no more, Dr D has popped back to rework the shutters one last time. One angle makes who is responsible quite obvious, whilst from another angle it suggests “How To Kill Lady Gaga” (which previously read “Home Taping Is Killing Music”). Get it?
Tasha, FD and Sigha formed Medium back in 2007. The midweek night’s music policy has proven to be popular, so much so that this Friday will see Medium make a move into the weekend. Joining forces with the people at Sin City they’ll be debuting their rebel bass sound at Cable. In the meantime check out the interview with Tasha, one of the talents pushing this movement.
Matter opened it doors for the first time in September 2008, but has it met the expectations of dedicated clubbers and music lovers? The Head of Promotions at Matter, Will, has given us his personal account on how the club is coming along.
Starkey from Philadelphia turned his dreams away from being an NBA basketball star, by choosing a career in music he has become one of the most interesting producers out. Creating music that he calls Street Bass, we get inside his head and see how this US citizen is influencing music on our side of the pond.
Street Fest promised to be a “new breed of festival… promoting and merging creative talents”. It did exactly that by putting skaters, artists, fashion designers and a surprisingly loud sound system all under one roof, producing an aura of creativity rooted in true Hip Hop culture.
Check out the review and images we took over the jump.
