We posted images of two New Banksy’s that popped up in Gillette Square, Dalston and by the North Circular Road in Hendon. Both of which have since been painted over. The wall in Dalston has been painted over. On Gillette Square another lick of paint is credited to a graffer named 10 Foot, adding the words “Say No To Art Fags” and “RIP Ozone, F*ck Banksy” (pictured left). Whilst by the motorway near Hendon (pictured right) someone has painted “Price-less” over the original artists monetarily valuable work.
The defacing of the Dalston piece is actually the most recent of many by 10 Foot and Tox. More commentary over the jump on further attacks on work by Banksy, Part2ism and Best Ever.
With the defacing there has also been one Banksy fan, Alex (pictured below), who worked on personally trying to restore a piece which was defaced by someone else. *Apologies to Alex, as we previously reported that he’d been the one to write “Love Not Money”, sorry for any grief you got for this!
10 Foot has been on the rampage in London tagging pieces by so called “art fags”. The gallery featured Part2ism’s wall by The Art Lounge was the first to be attacked by 10 Foot (pictured below).
Then 10 Foot and fellow graffer Tox went over Banksy’s tribute to Ozone, a graffer who died in 2007. Offending many die hard Banksy followers with the statement “Say No To Art Fags”.
In a campaign-like effort work by Best Ever outside The Art Lounge was tagged and again adorned with “Say No To Art Fags” and “R.I.P. Ozone”.
A story which will undoubtedly continue as more artists are attacked for showcasing their “street art” in galleries or their “gallery art” in the streets.
Throw-ups and going over have always been part of the game but what do you think about these graffers going after Banksy, Part2ism and Best Ever?
